The shower-performances-series connects two artistic aspects. The body is simultaneously starting point, material, and medium. It joins the primeval medium of painting, colour (gold, black, white). The colours stand for their inherent qualities and, at the same time, they arouse very subjective feelings in the spectator. In »White Flow« the artist tries to give expression to the »flow« – the state of highest relaxation and concentration during meditation – with the colour white. »The ›flow‹ corresponds with the strongest feeling of happiness I have known by now. In this state the emotions start to flow on the body surface.« (Gneissl)
ALEXANDRA GNEISSL studied media and performance art in Berlin. She is founder and organizer of the performance-festival »Springfluten« [spring tide] at Schloss Salzau. She performed in Berlin, Kiel, and Braunschweig and other places.
