Wunder in Progress - die ersten Hundertsechzig

Trailer von Florian Köhler

Editorial / Greetings

Everything that is going to happen in this room will overlap. There will be deposits, layers of time and dust. Layers of words spoken and unspoken. Movements will swing on, pictures will lay themselves on top of others. A space in space, a time in time. Someone told that the silence beneath his feet seemed to grow towards him. The floor uttered whispers. Only the skin of the top layer beneath which was a second layer, followed by many others.
This year "Wunder der Prärie" takes place round the clock. 400 hours – this is our response to the big anniversary of this town. 400 hours: this means that all events will take place in one room. You can choose between performances, theatre, dance, video, radio plays, lectures, and discussions.
Come whenever you want: in the morning, during lunch break, or (late) at night! We and wonderful artists from the U.S., Great Britain, the Netherlands, Switzerland, France, Spain, Portugal, Mexico and other countries are looking forward to meeting you!
Wolfgang Sautermeister, Gabriele Oßwald, Elke Schmid, Tilo Schwarz

Dear Public,
400 hours for 400 years of town history is the motto of this year’s festival “Wunder der Prärie”. It is also an exceptional and welcome present by zeitraumexit for our city’s anniversary. The anniversary calendar is abundant in cultural events which have been planned since long. The careful planning of “Wunder der Prärie” is to give the invited artists space and time for spontaneity, the unpredictable and the imponderable. I am very anxious to see how the artists’ interventions will change the venue Hafenstraße and how it will present itself during and at the end of these 400 hours. I am sure that our viewing habits and our perception will be honed and that we will experience a new and unique piece of town history. For this, I would like to say many thanks to the initiators of zeitraumexit. I should like to warmly welcome you, dear public, to these 400 hours!
Yours,
Dr. Peter Kurz
Mayor
